METHUEN,
Mass. August 21, 2001 Genesys, the Methuen, Mass.-based provider of software and outsourcing services for human-resource (HR) management, payroll, and benefits, announced today that the 21st Annual Genesys HRMS Conference will be held September 16-19, 2001, at the Westin Riverwalk in San Antonio, Texas.
HR industry expert Bob Stambaugh will kick off the formal proceedings with a September 17 keynote address on leading-edge HR information-systems initiatives for organizational effectiveness. During a lunchtime keynote on Tuesday, September 18, Jonathan Boatwright, Microsoft principal technology specialist, will discuss Microsoft's .NET strategy. Conference sessions will cover a broad spectrum of topics, including new Genesys developments, return-on-investment (ROI) studies, demystification of the web and web technology, scalability, and project management. In all, eight Genesys partners will contribute to the conference.
"We invite users to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to network, share, and learn," said Larry Munini, Genesys president. "Attendees will have the chance to hear about the latest advances in HR technology and methods, receive up-to-date information about Genesys products, and learn where partners such as Microsoft are headed in terms relevant to HR information systems."
Probably best known for cofounding the HR industry group IHRIM (formerly HRSP), Bob Stambaugh is a former Bay Area IHRIM chapter director and president and has served four terms as a member of IHRIM's board of directors. In 1998, he served as president, and, in 2000, he received IHRIM's Summit Award for his lifetime contribution to the HRIS discipline.
Stambaugh has worked with more than 50 Fortune 1000 clients to improve their organizational effectiveness and maximize their use of HR information technology. He also developed and managed HRIS capabilities and HR information centers at Crocker Bank, Intel Corporation, and Atari. He was vice president of VRC Consulting Group, western region manager and vice president of the Hunter Group (now known as Cedar), and vice president of consulting services at HRchitect.
A prolific author and popular speaker with more than 30 years' experience in HR, IS, and HRIT, Stambaugh will discuss how HR information systems can extend beyond the back room and into the corporate mainstream, addressing the needs of executives, end users, functional specialists, and stakeholders in the world of pervasive networking, informal business structures, and a global but fragmented workforce.
In addition to Microsoft, seven other Genesys business partners will take part in the conference as presenters and exhibitors:
- BrassRing Systems, which delivers a comprehensive suite of integrated hiring solutions that help companies develop and maintain productive relationships with both internal and external candidates.
- CTS, which provides tax-filing services to more than 40,000 organizations nationwide, ensuring prompt, accurate tax filing and compliance with ever-changing agency requirements.

- Workbrain, which offers a web and wireless solution that enables large organizations to reduce costs through better workforce management and planning, efficient delivery and sharing of workplace information, and improved employee services.
