Genesys to Honor its Client the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and xwave with Excellence Award at Upcoming Conference

Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and xwave to be recognized for achievements in integrating business processes for HCM with Advanced Technology from Genesys

METHUEN, Mass. (September 12, 2005) - - Genesys, a provider of outsourcing services and software for human resources (HR) management, payroll, benefit administration and payments, self-service, learning, performance management, recruitment and time and attendance, will honor its client the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and their IT service provider, xwave (TSX:AIT), with the Genesys 2005 Excellence Award. The award recognizes both the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and xwave for their significant achievements in effectively managing human capital operations with the Genesys PeopleComeFirst® solution.

The award will be presented to the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador and xwave at the Genesys Human Capital Management Conference being held September 25-27, 2005 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel & Towers. The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador supports a province that produces goods and services valued at over $18 billion and is home to more than 500,000 residents. Leading the charge on behalf of the Government's human capital technology efforts has been xwave, a full-service business-solutions provider that serves clients through three service lines: systems integration and software engineering, infrastructure services and product fulfillment.

xwave successfully completed this major modernization initiative for the Government in conjunction with Genesys experts. During the last year, xwave simultaneously migrated the Government from a mainframe to a Windows environment with all new servers, upgraded their Genesys PeopleComeFirst HRMS solution to version 6.1 and introduced web technology. "Key to the success of the initiative was the concurrent implementation of these modernization priorities, which saved both time and resources. In addition, important to success, was our ability to achieve user acceptance early on by actively soliciting user involvement during the detailed planning and rigorous testing phases," said June Turpin, Regional Director, Newfoundland, xwave.

"Now, over 18,000 checks are processed for the Government in a two-minute window - that is an impressive statistic," said Peter Shea. "And, with the integrated web technology, we can easily and instantly access the human resource planning and payroll information we need for rapid decision-making."
