Genesys Announces Partnership with Graphic Ed for e-Learning Courseware Targeted to Healthcare Market

Extensive Graphic Ed Healthcare Content Library Will Be Integrated with PeopleComeFirst Learning, New Learning and Competency Management System from Genesys

METHUEN, Mass. — June 11, 2002 — Genesys, a provider of software and outsourcing services for learning management, human resource (HR) management, payroll, and benefits, announced today an integration partnership with Graphic Ed, a provider of web-based training products to more than 1,700 hospitals, home healthcare organizations, and academic institutions. Under the agreement, Graphic Ed's robust professional and patient care library will be integrated with PeopleComeFirst Learning, the new learning and competency management system from Genesys.

The integrated offering gives healthcare organizations a unified way to track and manage learning resources and to associate training with identified competencies for specific jobs or classifications of employees. As an example, a home healthcare organization with facilities across the United States may require instruction on infection control for its home healthcare professionals. The new solution gives employees the "anytime, anywhere" access to the required training appropriate for their specific jobs through PeopleComeFirst Learning and an Internet or a corporate intranet connection. Pre- and post-assessments measure, report, and track mastery of the course material for internal and state reporting needs.

PeopleComeFirst Learning also tracks other learning resources, including libraries, seminars and conferences, and instructor-led training. The system performs detailed cost tracking and cost allocations, as well as highly flexible scheduling and registration procedures.

"Many healthcare organizations are in the early stages of deploying e-learning," said Steve Munini, director of advanced technology for Genesys and chief developer for PeopleComeFirst Learning. "Our partnership with Graphic Ed gives us the opportunity to offer clients award-winning instructional material along with a management system specially designed to meet the multifaceted training needs of the healthcare environment. And since this solution is totally scalable, it can grow to meet changing organization needs and available learning resources."

Graphic Ed offers more than 200 training modules that meet the annual training requirements for hospitals and home health care organizations mandated by the Joint Commission for the Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The company's training covers a wide range of topics for clinical and other healthcare employees, including patient abuse, pain management, and fire safety.

"Meeting mandatory training requirements is an ongoing challenge for any healthcare organization," said Jon Rosen, president and CEO of Graphic Ed. "This partnership gives companies a way to efficiently deliver training and to verify and track an employee's mastery of each topic area."
