METHUEN,
Mass. March 6, 2002 Genesys, a provider of software and outsourcing services for learning management, human resource (HR) management, payroll, and benefits, announced today an integration and referral partnership with Interpersonal Technology Group (ITG), a leader in the development of competency models for corporations and government agencies. Under the two-year agreement, ITG's competency models for business and IT professionals will be integrated with PeopleComeFirst, the new learning and competency management system from Genesys. The two companies will also exchange sales referrals.
Through integration of ITG's competency models with PeopleComeFirst, companies can define and manage competencies for all employees, identify skills gaps and prescribe and track the training needed to meet the competency requirements and career goals of individual employees. ITG's detailed competency models, developed through partnerships with leading companies and consultants, save companies the time and costs typically associated with the development of proprietary competency models.
ITG currently offers competency models for the enterprise, information technology, general corporate functions and insurance industry. ITG will complete competency models for healthcare and banking/financial services by June 2002.
PeopleComeFirst, recently adopted by Lands' End and Hillsborough County, incorporates rich functionality and flexibility for competency management, as well as tracking and managing all types of training, including e-learning courseware, corporate libraries, leader-led training, seminars and conferences, and virtual classrooms. Accessible via a standard web browser, PeopleComeFirst is available as a hosted or licensed solution.
"ITG is a recognized leader in the field of competency modeling and will be viewed by our clients as a valuable resource," said Steve Munini, director of advanced technology for Genesys and chief developer for PeopleComeFirst. "Many companies recognize the value of competency management. However, the complexity of developing a model from scratch can be overwhelming and time intensive. ITG's models give companies a huge advantage in adopting this management approach. Together, we give companies the ability to prescribe learning programs appropriate to individual employee needs and to measure and manage results."
"When integrated with PeopleComeFirst, ITG's competency models give companies a highly practical, cost-efficient approach to managing employee competencies, expanding career development, and targeting learning opportunities within a single solution," said Susan Lacoff Resner, ITG's program manager for competency modeling.
The Interpersonal
Technology Group has been an industry leader in the development of competency
models for over a decade. ITG offers competency models for all major
corporate functions. Customers relying on ITG for competency models
include the Highmark BCBS, Capital One Services, Inc., Perot Systems,
and the U.S. Government Office of Personnel Management. In a review
of skills management software and consultants, ITG was awarded a "highly
recommended" rating by the Gartner Group. The company also offers management
and soft skills training for IT professionals and managers. For more
