METHUEN,
Mass. October 15, 2002 Genesys, a provider of software and outsourcing services for learning management, human resource (HR) management, payroll, and benefits, announced today that Lands' End, one of the nation's largest catalog retailers, has recently completed implementation of PeopleComeFirst Learning, a web-based application designed to centralize the management of all learning resources and associate learning activities with identified job competencies.
Through PeopleComeFirst Learning, Lands' End employees will be able to access e-learning courses and track progress from their desktop computers. PeopleComeFirst will also provide employees with the ability to search for a variety of recommended learning resources, register on-line for workshops, conduct skill gap analyses based on competencies, develop individual development plans, and manage their educational assistance programs. As part of the implementation project, PeopleComeFirst Learning has been integrated with SkillSoft's business skills e-learning library. Lands' End's own corporate library of books, videotapes, and other media will also be catalogued and tracked through PeopleComeFirst Learning, as well as workshops and classes available to employees.
"Since Lands' End was one of our early adopters, the company had an opportunity to help us shape PeopleComeFirst Learning," said Steve Munini, chief developer of PeopleComeFirst Learning and director of advanced technology for Genesys. "Their insight and feedback have enriched PeopleComeFirst Learning in ways that will benefit all customers." Munini cited PeopleComeFirst's ability to manage education assistance and tuition reimbursement programs as one example of the different features on which Genesys and Lands' End collaborated.
"One of the reasons Lands' End is repeatedly recognized as one of Fortune's best companies to work for is that we place a priority on employee development," said Pam Peterson, manager of training and development for Lands' End. "We view ongoing learning and employee development as ways to help us with major corporate initiatives, such as organizational change, business alignment, succession planning, and employee retention. PeopleComeFirst Learning will help us manage the learning process more efficiently than ever before."
