Nurses and physicians at Christiana Care Health Systems in Delaware can get training and stay up to par with federal regulations using infrastructure management software developed by Genesys.
The Methuen-based company has spent the last 20 years providing human resource and payroll management software to customers.
In October Genesys launched its new product, PeopleComeFirst Learning, a learning management system that tracks the online learning and training within an organization.
Genesys is now offering a similar product but with a health care twist.
PeopleComeFirst Healthcare Learning Advantage is a new learning management system that helps hospital employees meet training and continued education regulations including that of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) and the Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).
Genesys has partnered with two other companies to provide the product to the health care market.
Steve Munini, chief developer of the PeopleComeFirst product, said Genesys did not want to get into "this world of content creation or courseware" so instead they looked at partnering with someone with a heavy focus on courseware.
Graphic Education, a Missouri-based designer of training courses to meet JCAHO, HIPAA and OSHA requirements will provide the courseware integrated in the learning management system. WynnLyn Group, a research and advisory firm in Oklahoma City integrated its health care job description and competency database into the mix.
Christiana Care, one of the largest health care providers in the mid-Atlantic region, will use the system to manage its employees' training and competencies and to track and run reports on the training.
Genesys executives say they are also trying to get the attention of New England-based hospitals.
Genesys executives say discussions with HR personnel over the past 20 years led them to add an e-learning management arm to their offering.
"We see this as a natural extension of our products," Munini said. "We feel that our background provided a lot of strength to our product especially in the area of managing competencies."
