METHUEN,
Mass. February 18, 2003 Genesys, a provider of software and outsourcing services for learning management, human resource (HR) management, payroll, and benefits, announced today that Metropolitan Utilities District, a provider of natural gas and water service to approximately 190,000 customers, recently selected Genesys for its Human Resources, Benefits Administration, and Payroll solution. The Omaha-headquartered utility company, which is the fourth-largest public natural gas utility in the United States, will use the integrated Windows NT-based solution to process, manage, and track payroll, benefits enrollment, and other HR-related transactions.
"We selected the Genesys solution as part of an enterprise-wide strategy to migrate our Customer Information System and other applications from a mainframe environment to a client/server environment," said Deb Baker, director of IS operations for the Metropolitan Utilities District. "We selected the Genesys client/server solution based on our experience and long-term relationship with Genesys and the advantages offered by its software and services." According to Baker, the company plans to begin implementing the new solution in March. Increased flexibility, decreased processing time, and simpler implementation of upgrades are among the expected benefits of the migration.
"We're thrilled to be part of Metropolitan Utilities District's next-generation information strategy," said Judy Dukas, vice president of sales for Genesys. "This solution, coupled with the advantages of the Windows environment, will help Metropolitan Utilities District manage its human capital assets more effectively and cost efficiently than ever."
