SANTA BARBARA, Calif.
May 13, 1997 In its continuing drive to increase
efficiency and reduce costs, Tenet Healthcare Corporation (THC: NYSE,
PSE) has begun installing new software to strengthen its personnel management.
Designed by Genesys, the software program, known as HealthCare HRMS, is expected to
reduce human resource management costs by automating personnel records
and integrating them into a companywide database. The database will
include records on employee benefits, salaries, education, licensing
and other personnel information.
"Having faster access to better human
resource information is another example of how Tenet is using advanced
technology to strengthen its operations," said Michael H. Focht Sr.,
Tenet's president and chief operating officer. "Each of Tenet's acute
care hospitals, as well as its corporate and operating headquarters,
will have access to more timely and comprehensive personnel information.
By better understanding its human resources, Tenet will be able to lower
costs while maintaining its high standards of healthcare delivery."
"Leaders in the rapid-pace healthcare
industry recognize the need for systems that help them manage their
resources more effectively," said Larry Munini, president of Genesys.
"Tenet has turned to Genesys for the power of our products as well as
our commitment to the unique needs of the healthcare industry." /p>
Terms of the contract were not disclosed.

HealthCare HRMS at Tenet's corporate headquarters in Santa Barbara,
Calif., and at its operations center in Dallas. The system, which is
expected to be functional at these locations within six to 12 months,
also will be installed at all of Tenet's 127 acute care hospitals during
the next two years.
