METHUEN,
Mass. August 14, 2001 Genesys, the Methuen, Mass.-based provider of software and outsourcing services for human-resource (HR) management, payroll, and benefits, today announced that it has released a new version of WEBServe, the browser-based self-service application that integrates seamlessly with Genesys' Internet-based software systems, ASP solutions, and outsourcing services. Among WEBServe's new features is the ability to deliver payroll-statement data and direct-deposit information over the Web, potentially saving organizations thousand of dollars in processing costs each year.
"WEBServe extends the benefits of Genesys solutions by making it easy and affordable to link payroll, HR, and benefits applications with corporate intranets and the Internet," said Ruth Ladner, senior vice president, Genesys. "We've enhanced WEBServe both to provide useful new features and to ensure that it continues to take advantage of the latest in browser technology. In terms of features, customers are interested in delivering payroll information via the Web to help them scale back the high costs associated with check production. We're pleased to deliver this benefit with the new release of WEBServe."
The WEBServe self-service application enables Genesys clients to provide Internet- and/or intranet-based self-service to employees, managers, vendors, and customers without implementing costly third-party web-enabling software. WEBServe includes a number of out-of-the-box functions (e.g., management of employee personal data, benefits enrollment selections, leave entitlements, and company information), as well as easy-to-use tools for developing additional capabilities and custom, interactive web pages.
In addition to providing on line all the data that appears on a check stub, WEBServe now:
- Enables users to link their systems to external benefit providers - Each organization contracts with different medical, dental, and vision providers. In the enhanced WEBServe, clients can "hot link" to their providers of choice.
- Provides visual-clue indexing of categories - The five main WEBServe categories (employee information, life events, benefits information, company information, and manager self-service) and all related sub-level information are color highlighted for simpler use.
- Displays static selection tabs at the top of each page - WEBServe categories remain constant on each page, making accessing a new category as easy as point-and-click.
WEBServe also includes aesthetic improvements, such as easier-to-read fonts and a new color scheme to match Genesys' newly redesigned logo and web site.
WEBServe is available as a software solution installed at the client site or as a hosted service for outsourcing and ASP clients. Customers may install WEBServe in public-area kiosks or on private desktops. It is deployable with any of the industry-leading web browsers.
Pricing for WEBServe varies based upon deployment and number of employees serviced. As recent studies by independent consultants confirm, typical WEBServe installations achieve payback in as little as six months.
