HRMS EXPO 1997 September 16, 1997 GenesysSoftware
Systems, Inc., A leading provider of best-of-breed Human Resources (HR),
Payroll and Benefits software and outsourcing services, and Hitachi
Data Systems (HDS), a leading worldwide provider of information processing
solutions, today announced the successful deployment of Genesys' three-tier
client/server HRMS to manage HR/payroll processing needs for HDS.
The Genesys HRMS provides HDS with a
flexible, cost-effective and integrated solution that will help HDS
provide Internet-based information access on a "self-serve" basis to
2,400 employees in 30 countries.
The Genesys three-tier, thin client HRMS
will support the self-service goals of HDS via native Internet/intranet
capabilities 3/4 enabling open process management and deployment of
HRMS functionality across networks. Using the Genesys WEBServe
product, HDS can provide Internet/Intranet/Extranet self-service to
employees, managers, executives, outside vendors, customers and trading
partners 3/4 without implementing expensive third party web-enabling
software.
"As an international organization, we
needed to be able to accommodate our colleagues', leaders' and other
customers' information needs across the country, around the world and
around the clock. The Internet provides the means, and Genesys provides
us with a solution to leverage it 3/4 via a worldwide, integrated database
of information and powerful functionality for HR/payroll information
access and planning," stated Ken Briggs, Corporate Director of Compensation,
Benefits and HRIS, and the driving force behind the HDS move to an Internet-ready
solution.
In its first weeks of operation, the
Genesys solution has already allowed HDS to realize:
- Significant Cost Savings in Transaction Processing
- Enhanced Processing Speed and Performance
- Automation of Manual Data Collection Tasks
- Improved Compliance and Reporting Response Time
The deployment will be completed over
three phases, and is being managed by Genesys Professional Services.
The first phase, implementation, was completed in late June of this
year. Subsequent phases, expected to be completed in the second quarter
of calendar 1998, will address worldwide HDS HR/payroll and benefits
global access needs, including self-service for leaders and colleagues
via the HDS intranet, and a worldwide integrated database serving all
U.S., Canada, Latin America, European and Asian/Pacific Rim locations.
"The partnership between Hitachi Data
Systems and Genesys is a strategic one that makes sense. Both our companies
have established reputations as leaders in making innovative use of
emerging technologies to stay a step ahead of our customers' information
needs. And so it is both logical and strategic that Genesys' Internet-ready
HRMS can provide this same competitive advantage for Hitachi," said
Larry Munini, president of Genesys.
